Prototype testing at the CleanPower test facility at Dale, Kristiansund

About CleanPower AS

CleanPower AS was established in 2005 to commercialize technology for small hydropower based on technology licensed from INPOWER AS.

Combining own internal with external competences, we have developed an axial flow turbine for small hydropower installations.  In ordoer to acomodate prototype test and development, a unique test facility has been arranged in Dale Industripark, Kristiansund, Norway.

The test facility uses water from an old dam in the lake Vollvatnet, a dam built in the 19th century to power vinches at the near by ship warft. The installation has 17 meters head and a water flow of 1.5 m3 per second .

The experiences from the prototype IG-800 were during the winter of 2009 / 2010 used in the construction phase of an Industrial Research- and Development (IFU) contract part financed by Innovasjon Norge. Our project customer was Statkraft Energi AS, that had the very first Turbinator^® installed at Hegset dam summer 2010.
